Plans — Free, Plus, and Family

CareHaven is built so the heart of caregiving works for free, and so the things that protect a life are never behind a paywall. Two optional subscriptions — CareHaven Plus and CareHaven Family — add room and reach on top of that.

On this page

Both are handled by Apple through the App Store. You start, change, or cancel them in Settings → Subscription, and the current prices are shown there in your own currency — this page stays price-free on purpose.

Always free, at every tier

Some things should never depend on a subscription, and they don't:

  • Safety in the moment — the seizure timer and its Lock-Screen Live Activity, the first-aid and crisis cards, and the clinical safety assessments (PAINAD non-verbal pain, the Morse fall-risk scale, and Katz daily-activities) are free for everyone, always.
  • Receiving a handoff — a sitter or co-parent can always open a handoff you send them, with no subscription of their own.
  • The everyday log — logging, charts, the basic care plan, sending a handoff by share sheet or link, and a local encrypted backup are all part of the free app.
  • Ask CareHaven, offline — the built-in on-device knowledge base answers common caregiving questions for free; it is the cloud-powered AI answers that are part of Plus.

The free app holds two person profiles and works on a single device.

CareHaven Plus

Plus is for a caregiver who wants the full toolkit and CareHaven on every Apple device they carry. On top of everything free, it adds:

  • More room — up to five person profiles.
  • The smart help (AI) — free-form answers that reach beyond the offline knowledge base, the assistive drafts (diary, weekly recap, handoff note, smart replies, cue meanings, and more), and the doctor-visit auto-summary. (Obvious identifying details — like the name of the person you care for — are stripped on a best-effort basis before any request leaves your device — see Privacy & security.)
  • Across your devices — sync between your own iPhone and iPad, plus automatic backups.
  • On every screen — the Apple Watch app, the StandBy / Wall Display ambient screen, and routine-session Live Activities.
  • Nearby handoff — hand a brief to another iPhone with a tap; the link and share-sheet send stay free.
  • A few specialized tools — including Braden skin / pressure-injury checks and the cycle tracker (logging and editing; reading entries you already have stays free).

CareHaven Family

Family is for a household or care team sharing the work across several people. It includes everything in Plus, and adds:

  • No profile limit — the Add button rests at twelve per device.
  • Co-caregiver sharing — invite others to care for the same person over your own private iCloud, protected by Apple's encryption and reachable only by the people you invite, with a shared activity view and an auto-published snapshot for the people you share with. See Sharing care with others.
  • Family-coordination surfaces — Visiting Providers, Care Shifts, and a Decision Log (adding and editing; reading and deleting what's already there stays free).
  • The pumping tracker.
  • Apple Family Sharing — a Family plan can be shared with your household.

How subscriptions work

  • Start or try a plan in Settings → Subscription. Apple handles the purchase, and everything it unlocks turns on right away.
  • Restore Purchase is in the same place if you reinstall CareHaven or move to a new device.
  • You manage or cancel any time through your Apple ID subscriptions. CareHaven never charges you directly, and there is no CareHaven account to create.
  • When a feature isn't part of your current plan, CareHaven shows a calm, honest lock — never a pretend "something went wrong."

A subscription only changes what's unlocked, never how private your information is: every plan keeps your care log on your device and, if you sync, reachable only by the people you invite into your circle. See Privacy & security and the full feature catalog.
